Welcome back Hyballers!!! Another Cape weekend of softball, kegs, tuts, general shit-show-ness, and horsehead-related antics is upon us.

For the newbies, The Hyannis Hyball Invitational is a three team softball game. While two teams face on on the field, the third team drinks together. It’s become a hodgepodge of friends over the years, which leads to mixed up the teams to encourage shit talking. There’s a good chance you won’t know everyone, or even half of the people on your team. What better way to make new friends than to face off in a game of flip cup, or hold a stranger’s legs for a magnificent keg stand?

After we declare a champion, we’ll all head to Craigville Beach for a late afternoon swim and to soak up what’s left of the sun. From there, everyone is welcome back to my house for a huge BBQ, more drinking, and late night partying. We’re all adults, so I trust your judgment, but I would ask everyone who comes please try to spend the night. Beds are limited, but last year we lined my yard with tents and the living room floor with air mattresses which worked out great.

The $50 fee gets you an awesome new t-shirt, matching shades, a pizza/sub lunch, all of your beer for the day, a glorious fake mustache, and a substantial donation to One Fund Boston, as well as the Sean Collier Fund. I will accept cash, but there is also a PayPal button in the upper right corner which will allow you to use a credit card. If you do pay with cash, please update the spreadsheet here so that I have your contact information and shirt size.

Because of Newport Folk Fest, there was a lot of turnover between 2011 and 2012. I’ve adjusted the date, so I expect to see everyone help make the biggest Hyball yet!!! Last year we raised about $800 for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization. With my company’s match program, my goal is to raise $5,000 for the victims of the Marathon attacks. Knowing you helped raise money for some people in need should make Sunday’s hangover a little more bearable. For anyone who cannot attend, but would like to help, I’ve created a separate donation link to the right. Those funds will also be matched by Dell.
